Looking for an unforgettable summer experience for your child? West Side Christian School’s Summer Camps offer exciting, hands-on adventures designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning! Whether your child dreams of building a backyard fort, coding a robot, exploring the great outdoors, performing on stage, or crafting handmade creations, we have something for everyone.
Led by passionate instructors, each camp blends fun, skill-building, and faith-based learning in a supportive, engaging environment. With opportunities to get active, explore nature, create, and grow, your child will make lasting memories and friendships all while discovering new talents.

Open to incoming K-6th grade students

Camps are open to the public, but WSCS families have priority registration

Week-long camps June 2-5, 2025 (Monday – Thursday)

Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Lunch Bunch: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM ($20/week, bring your own lunch)

Afternoon Session: 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Maximum: 15 students per teacher (30 if two lead teachers)

Minimum: 8 students (If fewer than 8 enroll, the camp will not run, and refunds will be issued)
- Cost & Requirements:

$80 per week (all camps same price)

$20 Lunch Bunch (optional) for supervision between sessions

AM Sessions:

Instructor: Janet Staal; Students: 20
Have you ever wanted to build a playhouse or backyard fort? This camp will give you inspiration and know-how. In the process, you’ll take your woodworking skills to the next level – literally. Ingenuity, craftsmanship, technology, and creativity come together and will produce an unforgettable result.

Instructor: Zach and Taylor Klomp; Students: 15 per age bracket
Let’s learn and play a variety of team sports, individual sports, team-building games, fitness, and other physical education activities and gain some FUNdamental skills in the process.

The great outdoors is great for kids! During this nature-play camp, your child(ren) will experience a variety of crafts, games, and activities. Play in the forest, bake in the mud kitchen, build a fort, search for frogs, and more. Each afternoon will be a new natural adventure and inspire your child with ways they can play (as they naturally learn) outside this summer!

Instructor: Meikea Herrera
Dig in, grow, and create as we explore God’s amazing design! In this week-long Greenhouse & Garden Camp, young explorers will uncover plant science, design mini gardens, and create nature-inspired art while learning how caring for creation reflects God’s love. Taste fresh garden flavors, plant seeds to take home, and develop hands-on gardening skills to nurture His earth. From crafting plant markers to experimenting with greenhouse techniques, campers will connect faith with nature and learn to be faithful stewards of God’s world Get ready to dig, discover, and grow—both in the garden and in faith!

Calling all young nature enthusiasts! Get ready for an exciting animal adventure as we explore the birds and wildlife of the Brian Dyk Nature Preserve and beyond. Through hands-on activities, guided explorations, and scientific investigations, campers will discover animal behaviors, learn how scientists study creatures in the wild, and develop a deeper appreciation of the diverse ecosystem and the creatures that call it home.
From birdwatching and tracking local wildlife to exploring animal habitats right here at school, this camp is packed with action and discovery. Observe, discover, and connect with the amazing animals all around us—right in our own backyard!

Calling all young engineers! Dive into a world of creativity and innovation. Embark on an electrifying journey where imagination meets technology. Get ready to design, build, and program your very own robots using the iconic Lego bricks. Throughout this action-packed week, campers will unleash their inner inventors as they tackle exciting challenges, solve real-world problems, and bring their robotic creations to life. With hands-on guidance from our expert instructor, campers will master fundamental engineering concepts and coding skills while fostering teamwork and collaboration.

Young actors and actresses will create new worlds, transform into characters, and dive deep into their imagination as campers work together to put on a play. Get ready to play, practice, and perform!

Dive into the world of foraging as we unlock the secrets of edible plants growing right around us. Learn to identify safe and healthy herbs, then use them to make refreshing herbal teas and delicious snacks. We’ll even go beyond the kitchen and whip up a soothing bug bite salve using our botanical discoveries. This hands-on class is packed with fun activities and exploration, all while teaching valuable skills and appreciation for the wonders of nature.
