Andrew Vander Wal, Physical Education Teacher

At a Christian school, we are so blessed to be able to go to Bible class, memorize scripture, and talk about God throughout our day.  But as our theme verse states, we must GO. We are called to take action and bring the love of Jesus to others.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28-19-20)

Last fall, our students and community did just that by raising money for World Vision to provide clean drinking water to kids around the world. In joining Mr. Vander Wal, who ran with team World Vision on October 20, our community raised $11,594! That money is helping 231 kids get clean drinking water, which means they will no longer have to walk miles a day with containers full of dirty water just to survive. Clean water also brings an end to the sickness and disease that so many children are dying from in these areas.

Matthew 35:34-40 tells us that we are not only bringing God’s love to these children and communities, but we are also showing our love for HIM when we provide food and water to the hungry and thirsty. Our God has a heart for the least of these and we should too!

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink… ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'”

Thank you WSCS families and community for helping with this fundraiser.  Lives are being saved in the name of Jesus and others are coming to know Him! Check out the photos below for a peek at the school assembly we held after reaching our fundraising goal!
