Philippians 4:4-7, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, WITH THANKSGIVING, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Earlier this month we surrounded Lori Pott, her family, the HCS and WSCS communities, as we remembered and celebrated the life of Dan Pott. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, colleague, and friend. Words cannot express how grateful I am for this community who embraces and loves so much. You are a blessing!
As Christians, God asks us to have a grateful heart in ALL circumstances. This is not always easy. During the Thanksgiving season, we are drenched in the message of joy and thankfulness, but what about our brothers and sisters who are in need of God’s power and strength to do unimaginable things like healing bodies, fixing broken relations, or providing hope? May we as a community gather around our tables with our families and friends and lift these petitions to the Lord. God listens. He provides peace, hope, and answers. He is a gracious and loving God, and cares for you.
Find strength and joy in the Lord as you see the blessings at your Thanksgiving gathering.
With a Grateful Heart,
An Kurosu, Head of School
