A special partnership was born out of multi-generational friendships between West Side Christian 4th graders and residents from Westend CRC and Edison Christian Rest Home. Thanks to the hard work of Mrs. Kryger, these students and their “Senior Friends” have been able to show each other God’s love and faithfulness through this bond for several years.

“We’re so blessed to have these Godly, multi-generational friendships!”
During an October “Meet & Greet!”, ten Seniors from Westend CRC met with our 28 – 4th graders to play a mixer game together. Then, after a time of devotions, the students shared letters they had written about themselves with their Senior Friends. In November, the students spent time interviewing the residents, capturing special information for a biography project the fourth graders would be working on throughout the school year. Attending a Christmas play and sharing Christmas traditions was the highlight in December’s gathering. Students built a slideshow to share their traditions and gifted each Senior with our newly made 4th grade recipe book! The upcoming semester includes a plan to play indoor and outdoor games of the past and present, and an “Exploratory Day” where the Senior friends will share their hobbies and skills with the students.
“We’re so blessed to have these Godly, multi-generational friendships,” concluded Mrs. Kryger.
